Remove dual boot start up screen

If you want to do it the long way:

(This involves editing the Boot.ini file)

1. click Start/Search/Files or Folders

2. in the search window, click Tools/Folder Options

3. uncheck "Hide protected operating system files"

4. put a tick next to Show all Files and Folders"

5. In the "Search for Files or Folders Named" box, type boot.ini

6. search the C: drive

7. Click Search Now

8. when you find the boot.ini file, double click it, (it will open in Notepad)

9. edit out the line in question (delete the information pertaining to "Windows").

10. click File/Save

11. close notepad

12. Restart, and watch it boot straight to W2k

- Right click on My Computer

- click on properties

- go to Advanced tab

- click Settings under Startup & Recovery

- change the seconds to display operating system to 0

- put the operating system you want to boot into in the default operating system using the drop down box

- click Ok

- click Apply

- click Ok
